Multi-Media Collaborators

Writers & Videographers

In modern journalism, it is seldom that differently able individuals are given the opportunity to openly report on the observations of their community.  What’s more, it is rare that the differently able are represented in media on their terms.

At SPORK! we value the individual voices that make up the differently able communities and work hard to ensure that we accurately represent their stories. We advocate by fighting for inclusive journalism.

We are looking for writers and videographers for an experimental online series about living with a cognitive, physical or non-apparent difference.

----------------------------------------------

Writers will be sharing their personal stories, experiences, frustrations and point of view about being within the differently able community. Videographers will interpret the Writer's stories into a short video. The final product will be a collaboration that will assist in breaking down misconceptions, openly discuss the day-to-day challenges that many with differences must resolve, spark conversation, whilst encouraging empathy, compassion and thought.

Writers please note: Writing topic is open as long as it deals with the differently able community.

Videographers please note: Video styling, format and medium choice will be independently chosen; creative license is encouraged.
